The Core Challenge

Many mothers have internalized the patriarchal system. They prioritize their masculine energy (the constant doing). But motherhood asks them to slow down and lean into their feminine energy (presence, intuition). As a result, mothers struggle to adapt to this shift and feel lost.

Key insight

Mothers are born with an incredible feminine power (creative and intuitive), but many have forgotten how to tune into it. The biggest challenge for mothers is to lean more into the feminine since the masculine is already prevalent, and find a healthy balance.

Practical Strategies

1. See your YES and NO as sacred: This is an essential mindset shift to help you protect your boundaries and the sacral chakra (feminine center). The day of a mother is full, and her time is gold. When you’re asked to do something or to meet someone, tune into your body to feel what the answer is, honor the sacredness of it, and follow through.

2. Learn the art of slowing down: The constant doing is the toxic masculine, and it leads to burnout. Motherhood requires presence, which can be reached by training the brain to slow down. When you have 5 minutes, instead of completing another task, connect with your breath, bring awareness of your body parts (body scan), and soften the tension.

3. Open up to receiving support: Mothers do and give a lot, often without support. Yet the balance of the heart happens through giving (masculine) and receiving (feminine). If it’s hard for you to ask for support, start by energetically opening up to receiving: breathe, bring your shoulders back, and open your heart space, and say: “I’m open to receiving.”

A Small First STep

Start by becoming aware of your patterns. Journal about how the masculine and feminine energies play out in your life. Ask yourself questions like: “How are my boundaries?” “Can I be present?” “Have I been giving too much, even before motherhood?” and give an honest answer.

Motherhood was the catalyst of her spiritual awakening. Chiara Townley helps moms-to-be and moms activate confidence, feminine power, and intuition, so they can make the best decisions for themselves and their families and create new legacies.
